Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a handful of things that can save you some problems and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in St. Cloud and the last thing you want is to uncover is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this short checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.
- Inspect Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you cozy. This costs you more money and causes more work on the system which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often forgotten as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and switch them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units cleared of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
- Set Up Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you take on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it working at peak efficiency. Spring is the best time to set up your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to arrange your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 407-477-6319.
